Regulate Your Life

Col. 2:6,7 Amp. As you have therefore received Christ, even Jesus the Lord, so walk, regulate your lives and conduct yourselves in union with and conformity to Him. You and I are admonished to regulate, or keep a good handle on what we do, who we associate with, what we allow to come into our eyes and ears and how we live our day to day lives. We are to conduct ourselves in a manner that is pleasing to God, by conforming to His will and plan for our lives. The key to being successful in this is found in verse 7. Have the roots of your being firmly and deeply planted in Him, fixed and founded in Him, being continually built up in Him, becoming increasingly more confirmed and established in faith, just as you were taught, and abounding and overflowing in it with thanksgiving. When you and I have the roots of our being firmly and deeply planted in Him we will find that the things that once tempted and enticed us to sin, now have no pull. When we are fixed and founded in Him and His Word we will be built up, grow and be spiritually strong. This will strengthen our faith and harden us to difficulties we face. With thankful hearts we will be able to regulate our lives to bring honor and glory to His name in all we do.
