Don't Let Fear Get A Hook In You

1 Jn. 4:18...fear involves torment. In order for fear to attach itself it must have something to hook on to. Doubt, worry, fretting, guilt, shame, condemnation, are all tools the enemy uses to bring torment to our lives. He is the tormentor. He is seeking those who will receive and then wallow in his lies of oppression and fear. He looks for any open door of un-forgiveness, bitterness, pride and self-reliance in order to set his hook of torment and fear. The first part of this verse says, There is no fear in love...If Satan is the tormentor and God is Love, then we know that to keep ourselves free from torment, we must keep ourselves in the love of God. Walk, live, move and have your being in God. The moment you experience fear of any kind, fear of man, fear of lack, fear of death, fear of the future, fear of not being good enough, any fear whatsoever, realize that the tormentor is at hand. He is looking for a way to sink his hook into you. In that moment, release the love of God. Run to Love (God). Call on love and it's power will break the hold of any fear that would try to attach itself to you. Love is the victory that overcomes the world!
