No More Drifting!

Heb. 2:1 This is why it is so crucial that we be all the more engaged and attentive to the truths that we have heard so that we do not drift off course. Drifting is very subtle. Often we are even unaware that we are slowly moving away from the truths of God's Word. To drift means - to be carried slowly by a current, move passively, aimlessly, or casually, to digress or stray. You and I enter the fast moving current of the world and it's wrong belief system every day. It is crucial to every believer that we hold on to the solid foundation of the Word of God or we will find that "slowly" we will accept the subtle lies that face us on every turn. If you find that you have drifted in some areas, go back to the basics of God's Word. Let it redirect your thinking to once again line up with "THE TRUTH!"

Stay In The Light!

1 Jn. 1:5-8 God is pure light. You will never find even a trace of darkness in Him. If we claim that we share life with Him, but keep walking in the realm of darkness, we're fooling ourselves and not living the truth. But if we keep living in the pure light that surrounds Him, we share unbroken fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, continually cleanses us from all sin. Light exposes everything. When we stay in close fellowship with God, His pure light will require that you and I are open, honest, transparent and willing to deal with any darkness He might reveal to us. In so doing, we will share unbroken fellowship with Him and live our lives with a continual cleansing by the blood of Jesus.

What's Your Idea Of God?

Heb.1:3 The Son is the dazzling radiance of God's splendor, the exact expression of God's true nature - His mirror image! If you want to know God look at the life of Jesus. Jesus represents all that God is, was and ever will be. As this Scripture says, He is the exact expression of God's true nature. So, what's your idea of God? Do you see Him as disconnected, angry, untouchable, and uncaring? Do you want to know who God really is? Then get to know Jesus. Jesus is full of compassion, love and hope, Who went about doing GOOD and HEALING all who were oppressed of the devil. Jesus reached out to the worst of the worst and radically changed their lives. Jesus laid down His very life for the sins of humanity. Do you truly want to know God, get to know Jesus.

Your Faith Has Power

Heb. 11:33,34 ...who by faith, that is, with an enduring trust in God and His promises, subdued kingdoms, administered justice, obtained promised blessings, closed mouths of lions, extinguished the power of raging fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, became mighty and unbeatable in battle, putting enemy forces to flight. Wow! I want you to stop and think about it for a moment, these people in Hebrews chapter 11 were not born again. They did not have the Spirit of God living on the inside of them, yet their faith and trust in God caused them to overcome. How much more can your faith and trust in God do for you? Feed your faith on the Word of God and unleash His power into your situation. Your faith has power!

What Does Your Harvest Reveal?

Gal. 6:8 The harvest you reap reveals the seed that was planted. If you plant the corrupt seeds of SELF-LIFE into this natural realm, you can expect to experience a harvest of corruption. If you plant the good seeds of SPIRIT-LIFE you will reap the beautiful fruits that grow from the everlasting life of the Spirit. If I plant an apple seed eventually I am going to have an apple tree. Simple right? The fruit produced is based off of the seeds sown. Sadly, to many believers are reaping harvest of one problem after another because they do not realize that the seeds they are sowing, to their flesh, are producing the wrong kind of harvest. Living our lives to please God, instead of self, will produce a harvest of blessings beyond our wildest dreams.

Who Are You Really?

Prov. 20:23The Lord hates double standards-that's hypocrisy at its worst! Who are you around your friends at work or at school? Who are you at home? Are you a person who is consistent in your character, your convictions, your moral stance? Who are you when faced with the pressures of life? We are living in a time in history like non other. It is becoming harder and harder to recognize the clear lines between right and wrong, good and evil - UNLESS - your life is committed to the TRUTH! We, as Christians, must be people of clear convictions, no double standards. We must stand up for what is right according to God's Word. Our lives must reflect who we truly are, children of the LIGHT!

There Is A Seed Inside You

1 Peter 1:23 For through the eternal and living Word of God you have been born again. And this "seed" that He planted within you can never be destroyed but will live and grow inside of you forever. To look at a seed in the palm of your hand doesn't seem like there is any life to it. But, take that same seed, plant it in good soil, water it and give it the proper light and you will see that something miraculous happens. What seemed dead begins to grow. Jesus, through the New Birth, has planted an eternal, living seed on the inside of every child of God. In order for it to grow we water it with God's Word. Without a steady diet of the Word of God, that seed will lay dormant. Natural seeds need water to grow, so too does this spiritual seed. Water your seed with God's Word and watch it grow.

Stay Steady

Ps. 57:7 "My heart is steadfast, O God, my heart is steadfast...There is much opportunity to be shaken to the core of your being as we look around us and see the utter evil taking place around us. This word "steadfast" means to be resolute, firm and established. You and I must determine no matter what we see or hear, we will remain steadfast in our faith. These are not the days to waver, pull back, or let down our guard. Those who win in the end are those who persevere and do not quit.

Do You Think You Know It All?

Prov. 13:14 When the lovers of God teach you truth, a fountain of life opens up within you, and their wise instruction will deliver you from the ways of death. We like to think we know what's best for our lives, and we don't need anyone telling us what to do. Do you know what the Bible calls that, "pride." A person who shuns wise counsel, resist correction from godly leaders, be they parents, pastors or mature Christians, is not wise. God uses godly people in our lives to help instruct us, guide us and teach us. Don't shun wise counsel for it will be as a fountain of life within you.

What's Hanging On Your Tree?

Eph. 5:8 ...now you have the very light of our Lord shining through you because of your union with Him. Your mission is to live as children flooded with His revelation-light! And the supernatural fruits of His light will be seen in you - goodness, righteousness, and truth. Our lives should continually be producing Godly fruit that is evident to those around us. The line is being drawn in the sand for the one who claims to be a Christ-like-one. Do those around you see the Light in you? Can they tell by the fruit hanging on your tree that you belong to God? If not, don't be condemned, just change the type of fruit you are growing.
