Titus 2:6,7 Likewise exhort the young men (women) to be sober-minded, in all things showing yourself to be a pattern of good works; in doctrine showing integrity, reverence, incorruptibility...Back in the day, making dresses, shirts, slacks and different clothing items was very popular. If you wanted your dress to turn out right you had to purchase a pattern. The pattern was designed with different instructions and if followed exactly, it would produce a replica of the design. Jesus is the pattern for our life. He is the Word made flesh. We are to pattern our lives after Him and follow the instructions given to us, in the Word, if we are going to replicate Him. Eph. 5:1 says, Therefore become imitators of God, copy Him and follow His example...We are to copy the original pattern. Don't try to adjust the pattern to fit how you think it should be. Follow the pattern and your life will come out exactly the way God has designed it.
