Eph. 5:2 ...and walk continually in love, that is value one another - practice empathy and compassion, unselfishly seeking the best for others, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and sacrifice to God, slain for you, so that it became a sweet fragrance. Let's stop and think a moment. How has Christ loved us? His love is not based on how good we are because the Bible tells us that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. He made us alive together with Him. He loved us unconditionally, sacrificially, completely holding nothing against us. Seems like a tall order to love others the same way He loves us. But, if we will continually look to our heart, refuse to become offended, and operate in the commandment of love, we will find that this God-given supernatural love will flow from us to others. No matter what others do or say, you and I must order our behavior within the sphere of the God-kind of love.
