Heb. 10:23Message Bible Let's keep a firm grip on the promises that keep us going. He always keeps His Word. Promises, promises, promises, people make promises that many times they don't keep. They have a hard time just saying no, so they promise they will fulfill something they never intend to do. It's an easy out that makes them save face at the moment. Thank God He is not like that. If He said it, you can believe it. Don't lump God in the same category as those who have failed or disappointed you. As you and I do our part, which is to ask the Holy Spirit to reveal to our heart the particular promises, from the Word, that we can hold on too. Secondly, set our heart to believe it, no matter what. And thirdly, to grip that promise until we see it manifest. How do you grip it? By faith. If God said it, I believe it, and that settles it. Your grip is strengthened as you confess, out of your mouth, the promise/promises that God has given you on a daily basis. Faith comes by hearing and hearing and hearing the Word. He always keeps His Word but it is on His timetable, which is never late and never disappoints.
