Don't Trash Talk

Prov. 21:23 He who guards his mouth and his tongue keeps himself from troubles. I'm sure we've all had moments when we wish we didn't say something that was taken the wrong way, or was said in jest, but really you meant it. Or perhaps you are a person that says the first thing that comes to mind without really thinking of the impact it will have on others. Reminds me of these sayings, "They just put their foot in their mouth." Talking "trash" has become an excepted thing in the sports world. One opponent trying to one up the other by intimidation and threats. Did you know that this is exactly how the enemy operates? He is constantly talking trash to you. He wants to intimidate and threaten you with sickness, financial lack, and ruin. He beats you down with your failures, mistakes and past. He gets in your face with lie after lie about who God is or isn't. He will tell you that you are worthless, a failure, a mistake and that God could never use someone like you. It is vital to your walk with God that you don't receive his lies and begin to talk trash about yourself, or others. Don't talk trash about your situation, instead begin to praise God. Talk God's language and you will keep yourself from troubles.
