Ps. 63:1 God, you are my God; Early will I seek You; My soul thirsts for You; My flesh longs for You in a dry and thirsty land...Have you ever woken up in the night and you were so thirsty that your tongue was sticking to the roof of your mouth? The only thing you can think of is to get a cool drink of water. This is how we are sometimes in our soul. We feel so parched, dry and wrestles on the inside. Often, we will try to quench this thirst with all kinds of things. Friends, activities, food, social media and the like. What we miss is, that we were made to have intimate fellowship with God and when we try to replace that with other things we find that we remain thirsty. The psalmist David said, God, you are my God, early will I seek you. I believe he understood the importance of seeking God before anything else. He sought Him early before the distractions and pull of other things got a hold of his day. Begin to seek Him early and watch your thirst begin to be quenched.
