Prov. 17:9 He who covers and forgives an offense seeks love, but he who repeats or gossips about a matter separates intimate friends. I Cor. 13 is known as the "Love Chapter." It is a biblical description of the God kind of love. You and I are to seek this love, walk in this love and show this love to the world. If we are faced with the situation of a person speaking evil of someone else, we are to operate in this God kind of love. Love believes the best of every person. Love doesn't speak evil of others, even if what is being said is true. Love covers a multitude of sin. Why? Because that is the way God is with each of us. He believes the best about us. He covers our sins with the precious blood of Jesus and never brings them up to us. He always speaks good things about us. Love gives mercy to others because we know the mercy that has been extended to us. Love forgives, restores, believes the best, encourages, and responds in the same manner one would want others to respond to them.
