Prov. 13:3 He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life: but he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction. What an amazingly powerful instrument God has placed between our nose and our chin. Think about that for a moment. In the book of James, it tells us that with our mouth we can steer the direction of our life. We have within our ability to speak words of hope and life that will overpower negative situations, bad habits, sadness, and even sickness and disease. With our mouth we can encourage, bless, uplift, praise, and speak words of love and peace. Or, with our mouth we can curse, rebuke, slander, putdown, rant, spew, and do much harm. Even those in the world have adapted the principle found in the Word of God by "speaking positive." It takes the same amount of energy to speak good things as it does to speak negative things. Why not choose to speak words of life, rather than words that bring destruction? The best place to get the words of life, is from the Book of Life, the Word of God. Let His Words fill your mouth and watch your situations turn around!
