Deut. 8:..man shall not live by bread alone; but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the Lord. Let not anyone of us think that there is any way we can make it in this life, surrounded by all that is taking place in our world, without a daily dose of the Word of God. The importance and value we place on things is what we will put our attention on. If we don't esteem the Word as being a daily necessity, then we will not put out much effort to read it. Just as your body can't survive for very long without food, so too, don't think that you can survive, "spiritually," for very long. Although, we experience hunger after just missing a few meals, spiritual hunger is more subtle. You may assume you are ok with a Sunday service once in a while, or perhaps relying on a message you heard last month. It's up to each and everyone of us to daily feed on the Word in order for us to grow strong, recognize the enemy, find our destiny, and be discipled up in the truth of God's Word. You cannot recognize a lie from the enemy, without knowing the truth of the Word of God. Start somewhere, even if it is only one scripture. Ask God to reveal hidden treasures, in that scripture, to your heart.
